Corrugated tin roof - EASY & Fast SALE

A few weeks ago I cleaned up a ranch. There were piles and piles of used corrugated tin roofing sheets the owner wanted hauled off. Some was new, but most was rusted with nail holes. I was dreading loading it, because i had to do it all by hand. I was more eager to get the heavy stuff!
Boy, was I suprised!!! I was just going to haul it all to scrap yard, but fortuantely, my buddy said that I ought to try selling it on CL. Long story short, I sold all of it (about 400 sheets) for $4.00 - $5.00 per sheet. Average size was 9' - 12' L X 26". I now post ads for free tear down and removal of it. I want MORE!!!!!!

Metal Roofing is expensive new! (Believe me. I sell it all the time at work.) Generally around 2.75/ft for bare galvanized, or 3/ft for painted. that's $24.75 for a 9' piece. So $4-5 a sheet is a good deal for someone who just needs to cover something. Nice find! Good to know!

Yes. Sell it as rustic, vintage. Most my buyers were only buying 10 to 20 sheets at a time, because most were going to use it for building goat pens, and or chicken coop.

Very good info. If I ran accross it, I probably would have just hauled it to the scrapyard. That will be a different story now if I find a good quantity.

I picked up 14 more sheets of this stuff yesterday free. Posted it on CL and sold it all for $80.00 to one guy all in same day. I love corrugated tin roofing. Anybody that finds this and just selling for scrap is really missing the $$$$$$$$$$$. All you have to do is post on CL and the buyers will come! I have been pricing my sheets for 4.00-5.00 for 6' sheets & 6.00 - 8.00 for 10' & 12" sheet.s Must be cheap cause it sells out fast every time. Good Luck.......

I can see this in a man cave as the bottom of a bar and on the bottom of the walls like wainscoting.
Top that off with a railroad track or angle iron chair rail.

I come across this periodically. Especially with what most everyone thinks is "aluminum sheds"...Will keep it in mind, and try out your strategy.

What category on CL do you have the success with?

Thanks for sharing Big Tex. I figured that would be the place, but better to be safe, then sorry.

So far, we haven't had any real big snows. I know last year, I recycled closed to 50 sheds made of this stuff. If we happen to get the snow again this year, I know what I will be doing with all the material. Don't know what people would use it all for, but like you say, who cares, as long as the cash is GREEN! lol
