    Not again!

Again with the crazy loads in my town! This was a day or two after the incident from the "What were they thinking?" thread.

I was told it was even the same guy, but can't confirm that. No news articles, just a fellow employees eyewitness account.
He was however stopped by the police about 50 feet from the scrap yard entrance! The blue buildings you see behind in the last two pictures, are the yard buildings.
    Good show fellow.

The way the windsheild gasket of the van is dragging on the ground makes me wonder if the windsheild isn't lying in the middle of the road somewhere.

This guy needs to invest in a trailer of somekind. He would probably save enough in tickets to pay for itself.

Well not to sound like an scrap metalscrap metalscrap metalscrap metalscrap metalscrap metalscrap metal but I do have a question:
I have a 7'8" square by 3'8" ancient box-shaped oil tank to scrap. Now if I put this on the flatbed of my pickup, put red flags on the corners, and strap the thing down properly, will it be road-legal?
A semi is wider than that so I'm assuming it will be, I just don't want to get in any trouble over it. Also my pickup has a 6' bed so it will extend over.

Murt, if it fits snug inside the bed, is strapped good and flagged...you'll be ok. Unless your overweight. May get stopped anyway depending on the police around you.

Dumpster Dee - Weitsman's (Aka: Upstate Shredding) in Owego, NY. They've been doing really well lately, and have been buying up the smaller yards all around and expanding into other markets. Ie: Syracuse, Albany, etc... There's a couple others near bye, but he's by far the largest in the area. Has been for years.

Yup I just called the State Police and they were cool with it as long as I flagged it for overwidth. There definitely are some advantages to a flatbed, I wasn't looking forward to cutting this thing in half. Thanks man
