    Window AC units

How much copper do you normally get out of a window A/C unit? Im talking a normal size 110 volt unit. I have a few of these and just wondering. Thanks!

Nothin to write home about but what I do is cut all the wire out toss it my # 2 coated wire, cut all the copper pipe out most of it is # 1 , then I unbolt the compressor and put it with all my electric motors. I don't bother cutting it open and cutting the copper wire off my yard pays 16 to 23 cents a lb for motors then I clean the tin off the copper and aluminum rad . Also if it has a transformer I sell that with my electric motors. All after I have a certified HVAC guy remove the refrigerant....; )

Thanks. These are junk ones I got from an old guy that used to tinker and try to repair them. The freon has been removed and they are in tact. I was mostly wanting to know a range of pounds of copper I could get out of one and if it would be worth trying to strip the copper pipe out of the alluminum radiator or sell it as is. Also how much are the radiators worth?

I am now faced with the situation of my county not allowing me to sell radiators from AC units. I get a few of them and they are piling up. I can drive them to the next county or take the time to pull the copper from them. I am going to try and take the copper from them. There is a viseo somewhere here about taking a utility knife and making a cut to pop the copper out. I will probably try that soon as I have about a hundred pounds of it laying around.
